About David Findlay
David holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Although a classically-trained pianist, he can also play trombone, trumpet, French horn or any other brass instrument. He also plays guitar, bass, drums and both tuned and un-tuned percussion. His multi-instrumental skills, plus having access to the finest musicians are tremendous assets to the film-scoring, music production and song writing/arrangement services he provides.
In addition to writing music for film, TV and video, David also produces feature films through his affiliated company Braemar Entertainment.
Recording
A graduate of the McGill University Sound recording program, David has worked in Canada, the US and the UK for a number of years. As such, he can provide a film producer with a score of superior sound quality ready and time-coded for post production in any format. Music clients will leave with a finished CD, mastered and ready for distribution.
The Studio
Optimal for a small number of players, the studio boasts a well-equipped MIDI rig Centered around Pro Tools HD3 and Logic Audio. There are also latest soft synths with an extensive library of sounds and sampled instruments. Microphones are by Neumann, Rode, AKG and Sennheiser with pre-amps by Focusrite and Drawmer.
